About The Studio

Frank Buchwald’s studio was established in 1998. The studio specialises in the design and manufacturing of furniture and lights, all exclusively hand-made from the Berlin workshop, situated in an 1871 industrial courtyard building. This historical property also houses ateliers of artists and craftsmen in woodwork, wood carving and glass fabrication. The work ranges from traditional metal work to modern technologies such as laser cutting - a unique and creative combination of both classic and modern.

In 2002 Frank Buchwald shifted the focus of the studio to a purely artistic one so as to concentrate primarily on the development of the Machine Lights.
